StackWise: Precious Metals
How can we help?
Help with prices, calculations, slab scans, saved deals, backups, and StackWise Pro.
Common questions
Prices or charts aren’t updating
Check your internet connection and whether online pricing is paused in Settings → Privacy & Data. Cached prices can remain visible while new data is loading. Check the date below a price to see when the quote was recorded.
Pricing can be delayed by caching, the network, or the data provider. If a deletion is pending, use Retry Deletion or contact support. After confirmed deletion, Reconnect Online Pricing creates a new registration.
My Pro purchase isn’t showing
Open Settings → StackWise Pro and select Restore Purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase and complete any Apple sign-in prompt. If that doesn’t work, email the error message—never your password.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → StackWise, then choose the cancellation option. Deleting the app or its pricing registration does not cancel a subscription. Purchases and refund requests are handled by Apple.

Where are my deals stored?
Deals and calculator settings are saved on your device, not our pricing backend. Pro offers optional automatic and manual snapshots in your personal iCloud Drive. These backups can be restored on another iPhone, but they do not keep your deals synchronized live between devices. Your Apple device-backup settings may also include app data.
Don’t delete or reinstall the app as a troubleshooting step unless you understand that locally saved data can be lost. Support cannot retrieve a deal that was never uploaded to us.
How do slab photos and certification lookups work?
Take or choose a clear photo of the slab label and barcode. Recognition runs on your device; check the coin name, service, grade, and certification number and correct them if needed. StackWise does not send the image to a server for recognition.
ICG scans can retrieve details automatically using the certification number. PCGS lookup requires Pro and your own PCGS API token in Settings → Connected Services → PCGS. The number and token go directly to PCGS. Certification links open the provider’s website in the app. A matching record does not authenticate the slab.
How do I back up or restore my deals?
With Pro and iCloud Drive available, open Settings → Backups → iCloud Backups. Choose Back Up Now or enable Automatic Backups, and wait for Saved in iCloud. Background retries depend on iOS, so there is no guaranteed schedule while the app is closed.
Restore Backup replaces local deals and supported settings after confirmation. Undo Last Restore uses a local recovery copy. Backups include PDF branding and its logo, but exclude PCGS tokens, subscription access, pricing-security credentials, cached prices, and slab photos.
Turning automatic backups off does not delete existing copies. Manage them in the app or Files → iCloud Drive → StackWise → Backups. The app keeps 10 completed automatic copies per installation; manual copies remain until deleted. Read the backup privacy details.
How do I delete information?
Use the app’s controls to delete deal items or deals. Settings → Privacy & Data lets you request deletion of this installation’s active pricing registration and pause online pricing. That action does not delete deals, cancel Pro, or immediately erase logs and recovery copies. PCGS tokens and iCloud backups have separate controls: use Remove Token in PCGS settings, and manage automatic backups and saved copies in iCloud Backups or Files.
For support-email deletion, another privacy request, or a lost-device situation, contact us. We’ll explain what we can verify and address.
Why is my calculator price different from Spot Prices?
The calculator can keep a custom spot price for a metal, currency, and unit combination. Use its price-refresh control to replace that value with the cached market price. Check your weight, quantity, purity and Percent of Spot as well.
